Conference Accommodation

The Conference organising committee has made arrangements for people to stay at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS). Cost is $90.00 for bed and breakfast per person. Accommodation consists basically of one-room study flats with shared bathrooms located on the AIS campus.

The committee has also compiled information about alternative accommodation for those not wishing to stay at the Australian Institute of Sport.

  • Small 2 room apartment—$150 per night twin share, ($20 per extra person sharing room) consists of 2 interconnecting rooms, queen bed and ensuite in one room, double and single bed and kitchenette in second room—this accommodation has tea and coffee making facilities, bar fridge, TV, Foxtel, with a kitchenette that includes microwave, portable hotplates, electric frypan, toaster, crockery, cutlery, utensils, etc.
  • Premium Studio—$159 per night, single/double (only one queen bed)—this accommodation is one of the motel’s newer rooms and has tea and coffee making facilities, bar fridge, TV, Foxtel, with a kitchenette that includes microwave, portable hotplates, electric frypan, toaster, crockery, cutlery, utensils, etc.
  • A 10% discount on the quoted rate is offered to conference attendees because they would be staying 5 nights. Attendees would need to mention that they are part of the ANPSA booking to receive this discounted rate.
  • The motel is within walking distance to the Hawker shopping village with a Woolworths supermarket, two bakeries, several restaurants and a takeaway, post office, newsagent, chemist, doctors surgery, and one of the restaurants "Rocksalt" is open from 7am for takeaway coffee and from 7.30am for breakfast.
  • The motel is also attached to the Belconnen Soccer Club which extends membership to guests. The Club has a bistro for lunch and dinner.
  • There is a bottleshop—Liquor Legends in the motel complex.
