Welcome

Welcome to the Rainforest Study Group Website.

The Rainforest Study Group is one of a number of Study Groups within the Australian Native Plants Society (Australia) whose aims are to further knowledge about the cultivation, propagation and conservation of specific Australian plants. The Study Group publishes regular newsletters documenting reports from members into cultivation issues, propagation methods and natural occurrences of different species.

Members of the Study Group are mainly keen amateurs with no formal horticultural or botanical knowledge, although a number of professionals in those fields also participate. As in all study groups, the members' work is mainly carried out in their own homes and gardens and in their own spare time.

Many rainforest species are in cultivation but there are many more about which little is known. Reports from Study Group members assist in assessing the suitability of various species for cultivation in a range of climatic zones.

If you are interested in the cultivation, propagation, conservation and appreciation of Australia's native flora, especially rainforest species, why not consider joining and helping to promote these beautiful plants more widely.
