Native Plant Profiles
This database of over 900 Australian native plant profiles includes a concise description of each plant, a distribution map, botanical features and cultivation/propagation notes. The database is being continually expanded.
Using the search boxes below, the database may be searched by various criteria such as botanical name, plant genus or family, plant distribution, flowering season, flower colour and plant size.
A list of the plants currently in the database, their families and links to the full profile of each plant can be downloaded as an Excel spreadsheet.
* The following general size categories are used in the profiles:
| Groundcover | Plants up to 300mm high , spreading to 2 metres at maturity |
| Large | Large shrubs or small trees, 3.0 metres high or taller |
| Medium | Shrubs from 1.0 to 3.0 metres high with a similar spread at maturity |
| Perennial herbs | Grasses, terrestrial orchids, tufted plants |
| Prostrate | Plants less than 150mm high at maturity |
| Small | Shrubs from about 0.5 to 1.0 metres high with a similar spread at maturity |
| Tree | Trees greater than 3 metres high with a similar spread at maturity |
| Vine | Climbing plants |
