Callistemon Study Group

CLOSED

This Group was formed originally with the aim of studying the cultivation and propagation of the genus Callistemon, a member of the large myrtle family of plants (the Myrtaceae), so that more species could be seen in gardens. Callistemon is closely related to Melaleuca and some authorities have merged the two into an expanded Melaleuca genus.

Although the Group is now closed, a number of its newsletters and other publications are available for download. As the Melaleuca and Allied Genera Study Group also covers Callistemon in its scope, the newsletters of that Group should also be referred to.

The Study Group’s newsletters document reports from members into cultivation issues, propagation methods and natural occurrences of different species.

Earlier and missing issues will be added if copies are located – note that the numbering after Issue 9 is haphazard and it is not known how many issues may be missing.
