Dryandra is a large genus of plants closely related to Banksia. The main differences between Dryandra and Banksia are the bracts surrounding the inflorescence (involucral bracts) in Dryandra, and the seed-containing follicles that are loosely attached to the flat or slightly curved base (receptacle) in Dryandra rather than deeply embedded in the woody spike or cone in Banksia. The relationship between the two genera is so close that Dryandra was subsumed into an expanded Banksia genus in 2007 (see Mast A R and Thiele K; The transfer of Dryandra R.Br. to Banksia L.f. This re-classificaion is accepted in the Australian Plant Census but remains controversial.

The Dryandra Image Gallery has been developed by the Dryandra Study Group to illustrate all known members of the former genus Dryandra. The corresponding new Banksia names are also listed as these are widely accepted by many authorities.

The image gallery contains about 300 images and includes subspecies. In many cases, the growth habits of plants are also illustrated.
