The Rainforest Study Group was one of a number of Study Groups within the Australian Native Plants Society (Australia) whose aims are to further knowledge about the cultivation, propagation and conservation of specific Australian plants. The Study Group published regular newsletters documenting reports from members into cultivation issues, propagation methods and natural occurrences of different species.

Although now closed, the Group produced regular informative newsletters, which are available for download

Newsletters

The Group issued regular newsletters documenting cultivation reports from members and describing propagation methods, successes and failures. The newsletters also aimed to keep members up to date on scientific knowledge and reported on other matters affecting the rainforest ecology.

Resources

The Society’s journal Australian Plants has published numerous articles on rainforest and rainforest plants. Back issues of Australian Plants have been digitised and can be searched and viewed online. Searching these for a particular species may find useful references.

Of special interest is the special Rainforests issue (Vol.29. No. 234).
