Waratah and Flannel Flower Study Group

This Group was formed in 2011 with the aim of studying the cultivation and propagation of Waratahs (Telopea species) and Flannel Flowers (Actinotus helianthi), so that more species could be seen in gardens. The Study Group produced regular newsletters which document reports from members into cultivation issues in various climatic zones, propagation methods and natural occurrences of different species.

Although now closed, the Group produced regular informative newsletters which are available for download.

Newsletters

During the Group’s period of operation, its newsletters documented reports from members into cultivation issues, propagation methods and natural occurrences of different species. These newsletters assisted in assessing the suitability of various species for cultivation in a range of climatic zones.

The Study Group leader set up a website in 2015 as an online resource for waratahs and flannel flowers, including the various varieties and cultivars of these plants.

Although the Study Group has closed, the website remains online.
